Just Watched: Ishqiya
When Ahana asked me whether I would want to watch this film with her, I was quite hesitant despite the fact that I really wanted to watch it. Company does seem to matter at the movies. Anyway, coming to the point, I was disappointed as I went in expecting a lot from this film. That, however, does not mean that the film was not worth it. While Abhishek Chaubey is nothing like his mentor Vishal Bhardwaj, he does have a thing or two in him, and this he has to use the right way, unlike he did in this case.
The film’s plot isn’t too much to talk about as the characters speak for themselves. The superb performances by the principal cast are what actually you get to take back with you. Vishal Bhardwaj’s music too, is something that will keep you hooked to this. I am not in a position to think much, but then yes, Naseeruddin Shah was awesome. Arshad Warsi was superb too, and surprisingly, I liked Vidya Balan for a change. Recommended for idling one’s time away. A done to death plot in a new, rustic setting; that’s all.
