Just Watched: Karthik Calling Karthik

Farhan Akhtar has always been one of my favourite film-makers and after he started to act, I was quite convinced that he would keep getting better at it. This film is proof to just that. In more ways than one, this is a basically a one-man show.

Vijay Lalwani’s tight screenplay allows very little scope for error as you are drawn into Karthik’s very strange, yet lovable world. Deepika Padukone looks a million bucks and pitches in a decent performance too. The music and background score by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy is wonderful. All-in-all, this film is one of the better films to have come out in recent times, which makes it a must watch.

Just Watched: Love Aaj Kal

Imtiaz Ali has done it again, well almost. While he hasn’t managed to do something as brilliant as Jab We Met, he has managed to give yet another refreshing love story. This one picks up after the first half hour and what we have after that is one enjoyable movie.
